My Story

Thank you for visiting Xtreme Rod and Reel. I can honestly tell you after over 35 years, I am now finally doing what I love. I owe every single blessing to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I never really fished much growing up. My dad was always working. During the day he was a carpenter that built houses from scratch and at night he took care of over 40,000 chickens on our 100-acre farm. Usually he was tired and weekends were for working in the chicken houses and travelling from church to church in an old beat-up Dodge van with my mother's Southern Gospel Trio, "The Rhythemettes".

Faith has always been a big part of my life. I was saved at 12 years old in a small, one room Baptist church by a "hell-fire-and-brimstone" preacher. On this particular day, he had just finished a sermon on hell and it literally scared the "hell" out of me. I walked down that aisle and gave my heart to the Lord that night.

There's been ups-and-downs, and my life hasn't always gone the way I had intended. I become a prodigal son more than once, but the love of my parents always drove me back home.

For the past 35 years, I've worked as a graphic designer, art director, creative director and marketing director for local advertising agencies. Since 2001 I've run my own advertising, graphic design and web development firm, Pro Image One, LLC and NC Web Pros.

Although I've always loved being creative, but something was missing. I disliked sitting behind a desk and staring at a computer screen 10-12 hours a day. I've alway yearned for more. I wanted to actually be creating something with my hands.
